Richard Greene was born in Newfoundland, educated at Oxford, and is now a professor of English at the University of Toronto, Richard Greene is a widely published poet, biographer, and editor. His recent book, Graham Greene: A Life in Letters, has been warmly reviewed throughout the world, and it was named in The Guardian, The Spectator, and The Observer as the best book of 2007. He is the author of three volumes of poetry, Republic of Solitude (1994), Crossing the Straits (2004), and Boxing the Compass (2009). He is married to Marianne Marusic and lives in Cobourg.
